Recipe Mods should be personal (and as easy as possible)
When it comes to cooking, it’s all about you. Or in my case, me. If you’re going to change, modify or otherwise revise your favorite foods, you have to have things ‘your way.’ The recipes posted here are ones I’ve modified for me and my family and I encourage you to modify them further to suit your tastes.
For instance, I sometimes use sucralose (Splenda) to replace some or all of the sugar in my personal recipes. Obviously you’ll want to use your preferred sweetener (and modify accordingly).
Resources
There are plenty of excellent sources of information if you’re looking to change the way you cook (and/or eat).
One of my favorites is Cook Yourself Thin. The show is great (and there are lots of free videos on Lifetime TV) but the books include recipes not featured on the show. I highly recommend “Cook Yourself Thin: Skinny Meals you can Make in Minutes.” We really liked the ‘Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms’ and ‘ Penne Ala
‘Not-ka’). A new edition, “Cook Yourself Thin Faster: Have your Cake and Eat it Too,” is now available (I’m still waiting for my copy).
“Cook This, Not That!: Kitchen Survival Guide” by David Zinczenko and Matt Goulding,” is also a terrific resource.

Why Modify?
If you want to eat a healthier diet I think it’s better to modify your favorite foods and never completely give anything up. I mean, I really want to have my cake and eat it too. So I modify.
Just remember: keep it personal (‘have it your way‘) and keep your modifications as simple as possible.
